A BEAST OF A FEAST, SINCE 1980
Adjoining The Carnivore is Simba, a vibrant, informal restaurant that incorporates a children's playground
Simba is very popular on weekends, and a lively nightclub. Order pizza from a traditional domed, brick oven or indulge at the Salad Bar, or go traditional and have steaks, hamburgers, scampi, trout, chicken and other light snacks.
The Carnivore doesn't conform to the familiar restaurant traditions. First, the soup of the day along with a plate of home baked brown bread and butter are served. Then, an army of carvers move table to table, swords laden carving juicy cuts onto sizzling cast-iron plates. Accompanying the meat feast is a selection of salads, vegetable side dishes and sauces
The nightclub operates from Wednesday to Sunday and has themed nights to cater for fans of contemporary African Music, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Old Skool and the latest hits. The Simba Saloon has hosted some of Africa's best musicians as well as international acts - Maxi Priest, Yellowman, Sadao Watanabe, Manu Dibango, Salif Keita, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Ismael Lo and Habib Koite are some of the performers that have graced the stage
