Tamarind Mombasa proudly won the Air Kenya Award for Best Restaurant at the Coast. The Carnivore won the Up Magazine Award for Best East African Restaurant

The Kenya Tourism Federation and The Kenya Tourist Board hosted the Kenya Tourism awards 2012 at The Carnivore on Friday 22 June whose theme was 'Celebrate, Sustain and Diversity'. The glittering ceremony was attended by Kenya's Assistant Minister for Tourism, Morocco's Tourism Federation President and other local and international dignitaries. The inaugural Taste Awards at Tribe Hotel recognised local dining and entertainment in Nairobi in 26 Categories. The Tamarind Group came away with four awards, affirming the high standards set by the group. Under the prestige awards, The "taste most innovative experience (restaurant or bar) was won by The Carnivore. The remaining 3 awards were under the People's choice award, which the Carnivore won 2: The Best East African Award presented by Up Magazine and The People's choice Category went to The Carnivore's Simba Saloon which won the Elianto Award for The Best Family Experience - a testament to it's lively atmosphere, delicious food, kiddies menu and popular childen's playground. The final award was won by Tamambo Bar and Grill for Best Continental/Grill
